Land Rover IIa ute - Steering and Suspension

Standard leaf sprung suspension - Military specification.

Springs are factory specification military ute leaf springs running military specification extended shackles.

Shocks are as supplied on the front, and Rancho9000 shocks on the rear.

Steering damper is a factory supplied unit.

Steering box is a Land Cruiser 60 series power steering unit and has been grafted to the external side of the chassis. It runs the standard LC60 link down to the axles which are also Landcruiser units. Power steering will be activated from a factory Rover power steering pump.

Steering column is a Defender unit which basically bolts directly onto the Series Land Rover firewall. This is jointed to the steering box using a LC60 intermediate shaft and a Defender steering universal joint.
